About Straight Lake Wilderness State Park
Straight Lake Wilderness State Park is a remote, undeveloped area in northern Wisconsin, offering solitude and primitive recreation. Accessible only by foot, snowmobile, or canoe, the park features over 1,500 acres of forested land surrounding Straight Lake, with no roads, campsites, or facilities.
The park preserves a natural landscape of mixed hardwood and conifer forests, wetlands, and the lake itself, which supports fishing and non-motorized boating. Visitors must be self-sufficient, carrying in all supplies and packing out all waste, as there are no services or marked trails. The area is managed for wilderness character, emphasizing quiet enjoyment and minimal human impact.
