About Pine-Popple Wild Rivers
The Pine and Popple Wild Rivers are located in southern Florence County in far northeastern Wisconsin, designated for their undeveloped, natural character. Access is available from the south via U.S. Highway 41, 141, or State Highway 101, and from the west via U.S. Highway 8 or State Highway 70, with the property office situated in Florence.
Many access points on the upper Pine River are unimproved and lack off-road parking. Gravel roads such as Goodman Grade are marginally improved or unmarked, requiring a four-wheel drive vehicle or truck with high ground clearance. There is no bridge on Goodman Grade at either the Pine or Popple River.
