About Kettle Moraine State Forest-Mukwonago River Unit
The Mukwonago River Unit of Kettle Moraine State Forest is located approximately 5 miles west of Mukwonago and 3 miles north of East Troy. Access is available via parking areas on Waukesha County Highway LO, as well as County Highway J and County Highway E in Walworth County; visitors may enter the property on foot from these lots. The unit is open year-round from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Visitors should note closed areas, active work zones, and potential hazards such as construction debris and demolished structures. The unit is managed as part of the Mukwonago River Watershed Protection Plan by the Southeastern Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission.
