About Purtis Creek State Park

Our 355-acre lake is a bass fishing destination, but fishing is not all we offer. Come to swim, boat, paddle, camp, explore nature or relax. We’re just an hour southeast of Dallas. Our lake features bass, catfish and crappie. Check the links below for more information. We have fishing piers, fish cleaning stations and boat ramps. You do not need a fishing license to fish here. You can purchase a night fishing permit at the park for $2 per person plus the $5 entry fee. The permit expires at 6 a.m. You don't need this permit if you are camping in the park.
