About Monahans Sandhills State Park
Out west lies a mystical place where the wind sculpts sand dunes into peaks and valleys, sometimes overnight. Monahans Sandhills State Park offers a Texas-sized sandbox for kids of all ages, as well as a close-up view of a unique desert environment. The park does not have marked trails – you are free to explore at will. Watch for the myriad of creatures, plants and wildflowers that thrive in what seems to be an inhospitable place. Rent sand discs and slide and tumble down the dunes - for kids of all ages! Rent at headquarters from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily. Return at headquarters or drop them at the "after-hours disc return" box at the park's pavilion.
