Imagine yourself in the shade of tall trees, listening to birds chirping and water lapping on the shores of Lake Tawakoni. Sounds good, right? Let’s go! Gather your fishing pole, your binoculars, your hiking shoes and your camping gear - we’re just 50 miles east of Dallas. Bring your own kayak or canoe, or rent one of our kayaks. Rentals, including paddles and lifejackets, are available at a self-service kiosk on a first-come, first-served basis. The Lake Tawakoni Trading Post sells souvenirs, ice, firewood, cold drinks and snacks, and fishing bait and tackle.
