Need to get away from the crowd? Head to the lake! Water draws wildlife and humans here for respite from the dry West Texas climate. The park is south of I-20 between Midland and Abilene. You do not need a license to fish from shore or pier in a state park. We loan fishing equipment for your use in the park. Hike lakeside while enjoying views of the water and glimpses of wildlife. More than 300 bird species have been sighted in the park.
