About Lake Brownwood State Park
Civilian Conservation Corps workers spent years building this special park in the heart of Texas. Today, their legacy endures. Stay in a historic cabin, walk the scenic trails, or play in or on the cool lake. The park sits on the shore of the 7,300-surface-acre Lake Brownwood. Reel in a fish, explore the lake by boat, or go for a swim. You can also water ski, Jet Ski and paddle. We loan fishing gear for use in the park. Rent a kayak at the self-service kiosk at the boat ramp. January average low is 34 degrees. July average high is 94 degrees. First freeze occurs early November. Last freeze occurs early April.
