About Pierson Ranch Recreation Area

Pierson Ranch Recreation Area opened in 1959 as the oldest campground in the region and was the first constructed after the completion of Gavins Point Dam. Located between Chief White Crane and Lewis and Clark Recreation Areas, it offers easy access from Highway 52 and features 67 campsites, two camping cabins, and one kitchenette picnic shelter. The large day-use area is suitable for family reunions and group picnics.

The park is open year-round, but between October 1 and April 30, showers, flush toilets, and other water systems may be closed; vault toilets typically remain operational. Visitors should contact the park directly for current facility status.
