About Yaquina Bay State Recreation Site

Yaquina Bay State Recreation Site is located in Newport at the north end of Yaquina Bay, near its outlet to the Pacific Ocean. The park features a forested bluff with spruce and pine trees, a large viewing deck overlooking the bay and the Yaquina Bay Bridge, and parking with trails leading to the beach along the north jetty.

The site is home to the historic Yaquina Bay Lighthouse, the only remaining Oregon lighthouse with attached living quarters and the only surviving historic wooden lighthouse in the state. It is open seasonally from March through November, Wednesday through Sunday from noon to 4 p.m., with two flights of stairs leading to the watch room; the lantern room is not open to the public.
