About Wallowa Lake Highway Forest State Scenic Corridor
This day-use site along the Wallowa River offers fishing and wildlife viewing opportunities, with steelhead fishing peaking in spring and fall. The river is clear and cold, popular among fly fishermen for its wadable sections.
The surrounding canyon rises steeply on both sides, lined with pine forests and abundant spring wildflowers. Deer, elk, and bear are commonly seen in the area.
