About The Cove Palisades State Park
The Cove Palisades State Park is located in central Oregon, encompassing the dramatic canyons of the Deschutes and Crooked Rivers along Lake Billy Chinook. The park offers two seasonal campgrounds: Crooked River Campground, situated high above the canyon near the park entrance with 91 electrical sites, flush toilets, and hot showers; and Deschutes River Campground, located near the Lower Deschutes River arm of the lake, featuring 87 full hookup sites and 93 tent sites with water access, along with similar amenities. Reservations can be made up to six months in advance.
Three deluxe cabins with lake views are available seasonally near the marina, one of which is pet-friendly. The park also provides three group tent sites. Visitors should be aware that blue-green algae blooms may occur, particularly between April and September, and should check current advisories from the Oregon Health Authority before swimming or engaging in water activities. Extra vehicles are permitted at campsites for an additional $10 per night, with a maximum of two vehicles per site.
