About Golden and Silver Falls State Natural Area

Golden and Silver Falls State Natural Area is located in the dense coastal forests of southwest Oregon, accessible via a 24-mile drive from Highway 101, with the final three miles on a narrow one-lane gravel road. The parking and picnic area sit along the banks of Glenn and Silver Creeks, shaded by maple, alder, and Oregon myrtle trees. Hiking trails lead through scenic canyons to two waterfalls that plunge 100 feet over sheer rock cliffs onto moss-covered boulders.

A 1.4-mile trail ascends to the top of Golden Falls, offering a view of the cascading waterfall surrounded by giant old-growth fir and cedar trees.
