Blue Mountain Forest State Scenic Corridor

About Blue Mountain Forest State Scenic Corridor

Blue Mountain Forest State Scenic Corridor stretches along the Old Oregon Trail Highway between Deadman’s Pass and Spring Creek, preserving one of the few remaining mature evergreen forests on I-84 between Ogden, Utah, and The Dalles, Oregon. The corridor contains intermittent stands of old-growth ponderosa pine, western larch, Engelmann spruce, lodgepole pine, and grand fir, representing undisturbed native forest ecosystems.

White-tailed deer, mule deer, Rocky Mountain elk, and cougar inhabit the area, alongside a diverse array of native plants and animals. Spring brings a vibrant display of wildflowers, while autumn ends with a burst of color from frost-kissed foliage.
