About Turtle Mountain State Recreation Area
Turtle Mountain State Recreation Area is located six miles northwest of Bottineau, North Dakota. The area features over 12 miles of motorized trails open to off-highway vehicles, as well as non-motorized activities including hiking, biking, snowshoeing, and horseback riding.
To reach the entrance, travel north on Town Line Road for 4 miles, turn west onto 101st St NE for 1 mile, then north onto 11th Ave NE for 1.2 miles, and finally right onto Sjule Road, where the entrance is on the right.
