Lewis & Clark Caverns State Park

About Lewis & Clark Caverns State Park

Lewis & Clark Caverns State Park features one of the largest known limestone caverns in the Northwest, accessible only by guided tour from May through September. Cave tours require advance reservation or same-day purchase, with different booking rules depending on the season: same-day tickets available May 1–Memorial Day and Labor Day–September 30, while advance reservations are mandatory Memorial Day through Labor Day.

The park includes hiking and biking trails, two visitor centers with interpretive displays, a gift shop, café, amphitheater, and summer interpretive events. The road to the Upper Visitor Plaza is closed to vehicles from October 1 to April 30 but remains open to pedestrians and cyclists, though it is not maintained in winter and may be blocked by ice, snow, or debris. To prevent the spread of white nose syndrome, visitors who have been in other caves or mines within the past five years must not wear the same clothing or footwear used there; if unavoidable, contact park staff for disinfecting wipes.
