About Twin Lakes State Park
Twin Lakes State Park is located on the southwest shore of Lake Roland in Michigan’s Copper Country, approximately 26 miles from Houghton. The park offers fishing, boating, and swimming opportunities on the lake.
It is one of the few state parks in Michigan that permits ORV use for access between the campground and nearby ORV trails, connecting to Bewabic and Baraga State Parks and Bond Falls Scenic Site via motorized routes. ORV use is restricted to entering and exiting the park; operation within park boundaries is prohibited. The park provides direct access to the Bill Nicholls Trail, with ORV route maps available for purchase on-site or online through MI-TRALE.org and the DNR’s interactive trail map.
