About Clear Lake State Park

Clear Lake State Park is situated along two-thirds of Clear Lake’s shoreline and is known for its clear water and quiet atmosphere. The park offers a modern campground, overnight lodging, a designated swim beach, hiking trails, a disc golf course, and access for anglers, boaters, and paddlers. It is located in Michigan’s elk country, where elk bugling is commonly heard.

The park is one of the few state parks that permit ORV use, with direct access to the Atlanta ORV route and the Michigan Cross Country Cycle Trail via a trailhead parking lot across from the contact station. A sanitation station is temporarily closed from October 19 to November 2 for wastewater system upgrades, but water remains available at park headquarters.
