About Eisenhower State Park

Eisenhower State Park encompasses 1,785 acres, including 1,000 acres of tallgrass prairie and 440 acres of woodland, adjacent to the 6,930-acre Melvern Lake. The park offers 163 utility campsites—126 with water and electricity, 25 with full hookups—and five shower houses. Primitive camping is available at Five-Star, Sailboat Beach, and Omaha Swim Beach, while 15 equestrian sites with water, electricity, and corrals are located in Westpoint Campground’s upper loop. A primitive cowboy campground is also available for equestrians. The park provides four modern cabins and two primitive yurts for rent, with a maximum stay of 14 consecutive days at any campground.

Recreational facilities include a swimming beach, sand volleyball court, picnic shelters, an 18-hole disc golf course, a 19-target walk-through archery trail, a kids’ fishing pond, and a fly fishing pond. A boat dock with 16 slips is available for rent at the East Boat Ramp. Trails support horseback riding, hiking, and biking, including the 20-mile Crooked Knee Horse Trail on the park’s west side. The bike and archery trail begins in Five-Star Campground. Additional amenities include a playground, basketball court, horseshoe pits, and the Ike’s Shelterhouse for group events. The Ike’s General Store at Doud Campground sells firewood, ice, souvenirs, and rents kayaks and canoes. Laundry facilities are located at the Doud shower building, and free Wi-Fi is available at the park office and parking lot.
