About Winchester Lake State Park
Winchester Lake State Park is a small, forested area located 38 miles south of Lewiston on the Camas Prairie. Recent samples by the Nez Perce Tribe Water Resources Division have detected elevated levels of cyanobacteria toxins in the lake, posing risks to people, pets, and livestock; visitors are advised to exercise caution near the water.
The park offers 46 serviced and 22 standard campsites, three ADA-accessible sites, and four year-round yurts, two of which are ADA-compliant. Most sites are pet-friendly. Amenities include picnic tables, fire rings, propane grills, and assigned canoes at the yurts. Day-use hours are 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., as per Idaho state code, and reservations are required for campsites from Memorial Day through Labor Day, while yurts can be reserved year-round. Only one vehicle is permitted per yurt; additional vehicles must park in overflow and may incur extra fees.
